Womb Prep was founded by Geri Alicea in January 2016. Being on a Journey to Motherhood herself, Geri knew firsthand what it was like to feel completely alone while going through one of the worst situations in her life. Around this time, Geri experienced a season of depression and one day she decided to study women in the bible who had trouble conceiving just like her. And because she didn't want to study these women alone, she created a Facebook Group so others could join her in her study.  It was in this study that the ministry Womb Prep as well as her book "Overcoming Infertility: Faith While You Wait" were birthed.

 

Since doing that study in 2016, Geri has made it her personal mission to make infertility LOUD and let other women know that they are not alone on their journey. Geri has made a commitment to "normalize" the conversation surrounding infertility so women struggling can talk about it instead of hiding from it. Infertility is hard and emotional but it needs to be talked about... openly.. and without shame. She believes that normalizing the conversation of infertility not only helps those dealing with it but it also helps those that aren't. The truth of the matter is that infertility is such a taboo subject that a lot of individuals not dealing with it don't know how to appropriately respond to it. But Geri is determined to do her part to remedy that.

Brittney King is a Creative Visionary, Author, Spokenword Artist, and CEO of Kingdom Knot Events. At a young age, Brittney experienced sexual abuse which led to years of her suffering in silence. She was labeled barren, unable to have children, and incapable of conceiving. For years she felt she was cursed although she read of extraordinary healing occurrences in the Bible. Experiencing God’s miraculous healing as a 6 year breast cancer survivor, she expected that her womb would be healed too, unfortunately, it wasn’t God’s timing. Or so she thought... In December 2020 God performed an unusual miracle during a deliverance service at her local church, Thy Kingdom Has Come International Ministries. Upon her last doctor's appointment of the year, she was surprisingly informed that not only was she fertile, but all the years worth of trauma and damage were no longer physically present, she was healthy and healed.

 

Brittney serves as the President of Womb Prep and focuses on Event Operations. Her energetic personality and God-given creativity makes her an invaluable asset to the Womb Prep team. Brittney is excited to use her expertise as an event planner to oversee both virtual and in-person events.    

Shawanda Williams is an author and crafter from Columbia, South Carolina. She currently works as the administrative personnel for a DUI program at a rehab facility.  Her journey to motherhood includes a number of years of unexplained infertility, as well as eleven years of secondary infertility. Because of her own personal testimony, she has a heart to help women and families deal with the weight of fertility issues. Shawanda knows what it feels like to have more questions than answers and is committed to helping others navigate that uncertain territory with faith and hope.  She often finds herself encouraging others even though she is still going through the process herself.

 

Shawanda serves as the Vice President for Womb Prep and focuses on support and administration. She thrives in being able to help behind the scenes so her years as an administrative personnel makes her an asset to the Womb Prep executive team.  Shawanda looks forward to using her expertise by managing the social media accounts, communicating with members and sponsors as well as other admin tasks. 

Towonder Glover was born in Brooklyn, NY but was raised in Santee, SC and has devoted her life to living for God. She received her Bachelors of Interdisciplinary Studies with a focus on Sales and Hospitality from The University of South Carolina. Towonder has been an ordained minister since the age of 19, and is now being elevated to Elder in her local church. She is married with a daughter and 2 step-sons. Towonder is also a multi-million dollar producing real estate agent, and Professional Tax preparer. Her journey to motherhood was one filled with many obstacles and health challenges but it increased her faith in Abba Father. Because of her own experience with and eventual victory over infertility, Towonder enjoys offering hope and encouragement to moms in waiting. She understands exactly what it's like to lose hope but she strives to be a reminder that God truly is faithful!

Towonder serves as the Director of Training and Development for Womb Prep and focuses on creating faith-based curriculum for our members and leaders. Her history of being an ordained minister of the Gospel and her overall love of God's Word makes her an invaluable asset to the Womb Prep team.
